Former hedge fund superstar Coffey, 46, increased the population of Jura by 50% with his developments on the Scottish island. The Australian trader known as "the Wizard of Oz" retired in 2012 and is spending £55m on his 12,000-acre Ardfin estate, including an 18-hole golf course. He was hired by Bank Austria to oversee global equity proprietary trading before joining London's GLG hedge fund, earning up to £75m a year. Coffey forfeited a £260m golden handcuffs deal in 2008 to join Mayfair-based Moore Capital where he stayed for four years. He spends much of his time in London or on Jura.
